The UK Association for Biotechnology & Computational Science (UKABCS) is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with Bioinformatics Gate (Egypt), aimed at expanding access to advanced training in computational chemistry. This collaboration represents a shared commitment to empower researchers across the Arab world and beyond with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in the global scientific community.
At the heart of this partnership is the Professional Diploma in Computational Chemistry 2026, a comprehensive training programme designed to build capacity in one of the most in-demand fields of modern science. For many students and researchers in developing regions, the barriers of cost, language, and institutional access have long restricted their ability to pursue advanced education. Through this initiative, UKABCS and Bioinformatics Gate are working to break down these barriers and open doors to new opportunities.
The partnership is backed by a significant in-kind donation valued at £35,000, contributed by Bioinformatics Gate to UKABCS. This donation directly subsidises the cost of the Diploma, ensuring that researchers who may not otherwise have access to high-level training can participate. By reinvesting resources into scholarships and reduced-fee enrolments, the initiative demonstrates how collaboration between UK-registered and international partners can translate into meaningful educational impact.

The Diploma itself reflects UKABCS’s broader mission of capacity building and international collaboration. Covering topics such as molecular modelling, drug design, ADMET prediction, and AI-driven bioinformatics, the programme provides a holistic foundation for researchers at all career stages. Delivered in both Arabic and English, it ensures inclusivity for learners who may struggle with technical English while also preparing them to engage in global scientific discourse.
This collaboration is more than just financial support—it is about reshaping the culture of science education. By offering structured, accredited training recognised by both UK and Egyptian institutions, UKABCS and Bioinformatics Gate demonstrate that high-quality science education does not need to be limited to elite universities. Instead, it can be delivered in a flexible, accessible format that meets the realities of today’s learners. For UKABCS, this partnership represents a model for future collaborations. By working with international partners who share its vision, the Association can scale its impact, expand its reach, and ensure that scientific excellence is not restricted by geography. For Bioinformatics Gate, it affirms a long-standing commitment to bridging the gap between Arab researchers and the international scientific community.
Through this strategic partnership, both organisations reaffirm their shared belief that science must be inclusive, collaborative, and globally accessible. Together, they are not only supporting individual learners but also contributing to the development of a stronger, more connected research community.
