The UK Association for Biotechnology & Computational Science (UKABCS) is committed to ensuring that financial barriers never impede the global dissemination of peer-reviewed research.
Through our institutional publishing fund, we offer full and partial Article Processing Charge (APC) waivers exclusively for manuscripts submitted to and accepted by:
International Journal of Biotechnology & Computational Science (IJBTCS) Indexed in major scholarly indexes with immediate Gold Open Access (CC-BY).
Scope & Eligible Domains
Waivers are available for manuscripts reporting original research, comprehensive reviews, or novel computational pipelines in:
- Biotechnology & Molecular Biology: Recombinant technologies, fermentation, synthetic biology, and bioprocess engineering.
- Computational Biology & Bioinformatics: Structural bioinformatics, macromolecular simulation, molecular docking, and genomics.
- Drug Discovery & Chemoinformatics: Target identification, QSAR, pharmacophore modeling, and lead optimization.
- Artificial Intelligence in Life Sciences: Deep learning for protein design, AlphaFold workflows, and biomedical imaging.
Coverage Options
- Full Waiver (100% APC Coverage): Awarded to primary authors from low-to-middle income countries, early-career researchers without institutional grants, and active UKABCS members with outstanding peer review scores.
- Partial Waiver (50% APC Coverage): Awarded on competitive merit to co-funded academic teams.
Application Requirements
- Official manuscript acceptance letter (or provisional acceptance subject to minor revisions) from IJBTCS.
- Verified active UKABCS Membership ID.
- Brief institutional confirmation that no dedicated open-access funds are available from the authors’ host department.
